Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator SDC - Registered Nurse - RN

Carmel Manor is a Faith-Based, nonprofit, long-term care and short-term rehabilitation facility located on the picturesque banks of the Ohio River. Since 1949, our partnership with the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm has allowed us to provide the highest quality staff and services. We strive to uphold our long tradition of caring for the physical, spiritual, and intellectual needs of the whole person.

We are seeking to hire an Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator SDC - Registered Nurse - RN. 

  • Pay range = $40 to $43 per hour
  • Ohio Nurses: We will pay your Kentucky license fees! 
  • 10-minute commute from Cincinnati 

Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator SDC - Registered Nurse - RN Qualifications:

  • Current licensure in the State of Kentucky as a Registered Nurse - RN.
  • Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology or Certification of the completion of the “Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Course” by CDC. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Long-Term Care.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a nursing supervisory role.
  • Current CPR certification.

Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator SDC - Registered Nurse - RN Job Summary:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the Carmel Manor infection prevention program.
  • Develop an annual surveillance plan based on the population served, services provided, and analysis of surveillance data.
  • Utilize epidemiologic principles to conduct surveillance and investigation.
  • Develop, interpret and assist with implementation of infection prevention and control policies and protocols.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and educational principles on infection prevention and control for staff.
  • Make daily rounds throughout the facility to assure that personnel are performing infection prevention practices.
  • Participate in the assessment and selection of residents to the facility related to infection prevention and control.
  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate educational programs for all nursing home staff based on resident needs and to include all mandated and necessary training and education for the safe and effective operation of the home.
  • Ensure all staff have access to Relias for orientation and on-going training, recordkeeping and notification re issues of non-compliance.
  • Provide hands on nursing care as necessary, as directed and allowed based on IP’s scope of licensure.
