Carnegie Hall is Hiring a Box Office Second Assistant Treasurer Near New York, NY

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join us as the Box Office Second Assistant Treasurer at Carnegie Hall. The Box Office Second Assistant Treasurer acts as a secondary team leader and manager. The Box Office Second Assistant Treasurer also provides client-facing and back-office technical support. This position will need to perform supporting administrative and technical work, requiring attention to detail and superior technical proficiency. The Second Box Office Assistant Treasurer is additionally a sales and customer service position and provides direct administrative support to the Treasurer, ensuring that a high standard of client support is maintained. It is essential that the Second Assistant Treasurer possesses a friendly, competent, professional, and customer-focused demeanor and can anticipate questions from concertgoers as well as promoters. Proficiency in Tessitura ticketing software is required. This role is a union position covered by Local 751 and part of the Ticketing Operations department within the Marketing group at Carnegie Hall.Tasks & Responsibilities:Support the Treasurer in leading the Box Office team, including, but not limited to:Ensure a high standard of technical proficiency and accuracy. Provide technical support for ticketing system upgrades and testing.Documentation of internal processes and workflows, developing shared understandings across departments and systems.Support ongoing learning and skills development within the Box Office team.Manage relationships with CHC stakeholders, rental clients and vendors in a professional, supportive, and thoughtful manner.Continually seek opportunities for efficiency, technical advancements, and improving service to customers.Be responsible for daily cash handling which includes creating a daily bank deposit, reconciliation and managing the relationship with Carnegie Hall’s courier service.Interact with customers to help and support: Single ticket salesSubscription ticket exchangesEducation event ticket salesSubscription package renewalsGeneral information inquiriesTroubleshooting and/or customer service inquiries Gift certificate purchasesTours Perform supporting administrative work, including but not limited to:Setting on-sale dates, recommendations on pricingCommunicating interim ticket sales reports Preparing performances to be sold through TessituraPreparation of final box office settlement. Interface with Ticket Operations, Booking, House Manager, Finance departments and any other stakeholders.Recommend improvements to procedures, train staff as procedures are identified.Manage ticket inventory through Tessitura, which includes but is not limited to:Building performancesPlacing, adjusting, and releasing ticket holdsManaging bulk ticket printing for internal stakeholders and outside rental clientsSkills & Qualifications:Experience in ticket sales, staff leadership and training, problem solving, and financial controls/accountability. Experience documenting internal workflows to develop standard operating procedures and shared understandings of processes.A demonstrated knowledge of the Tessitura CRM system is essential.Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 with concentrated usage of Outlook and Excel. Commitment to excellent customer services, strong communication skills, and a team player.Operates effectively in pressure situations.Interest and enthusiasm for music, and/or the performing arts. Work Schedule:The Box Office is a seven day a week operation. All staff members work a flexible schedule which normally includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
