About the Role: The School of Public Policy and Management is seeking an Academic Program Manager to assist with the academic program operations for an existing portfolio of graduate degrees as well as assist with plans for new programs and/or educational delivery options. Students in these academic programs learn to address society’s most complex problems, with a firm understanding of policy and healthcare, the analytical foundations to build the right solutions, and the management prowess to deploy those solutions for maximum impact. In this role, a successful candidate will play a pivotal role in program execution at the direction of the Associate Dean and Senior Director and in collaboration with the Admissions, Marketing, Academic Services and Advising, Student Affairs, and Career Services offices. They will partner with the school’s leadership to lead the implementation and execution of enrollment and retention programming, which includes activities to attract prospective students as well as co-curricular programming that improves the student educational and community experience. This may include pre-matriculation activities, speaker series, cohort team building, and leadership development offerings. This position will assist the offices of Admissions and Marketing with student recruitment efforts including delivering program presentations to prospective students, domestic travel, and marketing materials review. They will have a high level of accountability for information accuracy and will be responsible to communicate program information and/or update the team and relevant partners to ensure that program materials are accurate and to ensure a high-quality educational experience. They will track timelines and schedules to meet program goals driving improvement. Core responsibilities will include: Academic program operations and execution including implementing curricular changes and updates, carrying out academic policies and procedures with a focus on inclusivity and equity. Direct the collection and reporting of all continuing student feedback; communicate to all relevant collaborators. Implement the process of degree completion review in conjunction with academic advisors. Owning the Systems Synthesis (Capstone) course operations (clients, proposals, agreements, and teams). Developing relevant co-curricular programming to improve learning and student experience, considering diverse cultural perspectives and relevant equity issues. Supporting and handling speaker series and other events, ensuring diverse and inclusive representation and including identifying, booking, and managing speakers and guests. Supporting certificate and other non-degree programs in support of the Associate Dean and Senior Director. Partnering with the offices of Admissions and Marketing to implement culturally responsive program recruitment and brand development. This will involve recruitment travel, delivering presentations to prospective student audiences, and reviewing marketing content development. Adhering to the program budgets. Staying abreast of emerging policy, healthcare and data analytics developments and associated curricular and co-curricular incorporation. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in public policy, healthcare, higher education administration, program management or a related area required. A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered. At least three years of demonstrated ability working with educational programming including curriculum or course management, co-curricular program development and execution. Experience in program assessment and organizational change. Demonstrated proficiency in program/project management tools. Experience in a student-facing role within higher education is helpful. Established relationships and experience partnering with government, public, and nonprofit organizations is highly desirable. Familiarity with emerging trends in public policy and data science for social good is highly desirable.
