The Advancement Department is seeking a dedicated Development Associate to partner with prospect managers to enhance their efficiency in fundraising by leveraging data, research, and reports, while also assisting in strategy development, data accuracy, and the preparation of high-quality prospect briefings and reports. This role also coordinates special events and projects, collaborating with university partners to achieve advancement goals.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes data, research, reports, and other resources and tools to help prioritize and optimize prospect qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Assists prospect managers with prospect strategy development and moves management, and assists in the drafting and updating of written prospect strategies.
  • Monitors and ensures the accuracy of prospect management-related data and other information in University Advancement's database of record.
  • Assists the prospect manager in the drafting and finalization of prospect briefings, profiles, and reports for university leaders; internal presentations; prospect correspondence; fundraising proposals and gift agreements; and other documents, ensuring that the highest quality products are created within required time parameters.
  • Assists with planning and coordination of special events and campus visits by prospects, including contact with prospects when needed.
  • Manages and completes a variety of special projects requiring skills in data analysis, writing/editing, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Works effectively with partners within University Advancement and across the university to accomplish goals.
  • Regularly needs to make decisions on the most effective positioning of ideas and information in correspondence, proposals, and reports. Makes appropriate editorial decisions based on university style guidelines. Determines appropriate sources of data and information for a variety of projects. Expected to determine own priorities, and may deviate from established procedures and practices as long as end results meet performance objectives and established goals.
  • Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of correspondence, proposals, and reports for prospects. Requires a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to internal/external politics and a high degree of integrity to deal with internal/external constituents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
