The Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) is a living laboratory where we investigate the relationship between computer technology, human activity, and society. Founded in 1993, the HCII is a place where we work to understand and create technology that harmonizes with and improves human capabilities, goals, and social environments through interdisciplinary research and education in design, computer science, and behavioral and social sciences. We research how people work, play, and communicate within groups, organizations, and social structures, then we design, create, and evaluate technologies and tools to support human and social activities.
HCII is seeking a Research Assistant to join the team to assist with for conducting research interviews, doing data analysis, creating design prototypes, conducting interaction design and iterating on prototypes.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Follows research plans in order to collect, record, and manipulate research data. Maintains accurate and detailed research records and files.
  • Performs library research and field explorations.
  • Performs basic data analysis in order to product reports. Documents results and processes.
  • May test software prototypes. May interact with research subjects in order to perform job functions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Psychology, Computer Science, or Human Computer Interaction.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, record management, and data entry preferred.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
