The Vice President of Facilities, Planning, and Operations is a senior level position, responsible for the facilities and operational functions at the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. The position oversees the administration and execution of the engineering, maintenance, repair, and custodial programs to assure optimum utilization of facilities for the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. In addition, the position is responsible for other operational activities such as security, parking, shipping, and receiving. The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the Bellefield Boiler Plant. The position works with the Building and Grounds Committee of the Board of Trustees as well as the Supervisory Committee of the Bellefield Boiler Plant. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Position requires, a BA or BS in engineering, architecture or business management from an accredited college or university; A minimum of 7-10 years of experience at a supervisory level managing and directing the planning and maintenance work for a large facility or facilities. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver’s license KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: A solid understanding of historic and state of the art mechanical, electrical, life safety and building management control systems;Experience in unionized labor environments; A working knowledge of MS Windows, Access, Word and Excel; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; The ability to effectively communicate and coordinate actions with board Members, Senior Staff, Directors, Museum staff, contractors, and architects; The ability to develop, monitor and work within fixed annual operating and capital budgets. Construction experience and City of Pittsburgh Engineering License is desirable.This position requires working various schedules and times including daylight, evenings, nights, and weekends. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach.
