Carolina Community Impact is Hiring a Junior Loan Associate Near Raleigh, NC

JOB SUMMARY: 

Capital Access Assistant Manager (CAAM) with guidance from Capital Access Managers works with entrepreneurs and local stakeholders to help them access capital from CCI. The expectation is that person will achieve the assigned performance metrics. The CAAM is trained on the best practices for all CCI loan products and supports local clients throughout the borrowing process. The CAM has responsibility for working collaboratively with all the local stakeholders and making sure the potential borrowers have the resources to successfully access capital from CCI.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review new loan inquiries and reach out to prospective borrowers to conduct the initial intake interview and begin the collection of documents for loan candidates.
  • Collaborate with field staff to deliver excellent customer experience, including proactively providing feedback on loan application fit with underwriting guidelines and clearly communicating and setting expectation process, timeline, expectations
  • Identify prospective clients that meet CCI lending policy guidelines
  • Assist clients in completing the loan application including submission of documents required for lending to include: Personal and business tax returns, identification, business entity documents, and other supporting documents.
  • Explain to prospective clients the advantages of the products or services offered and follow up with them to assess loan options.
  • Respond to the client's queries regarding the products in a timely fashion.
  • Develop strong customer relationships to generate a high volume of prospective clients.
  • Manage customer calls and appointments effectively for new opportunities.
  • Cultivate a community of economic development and small business lending partners
  • Host or support workshops/convening about access to capital and other relevant small business management topics.
  • Respond to informational inquiries about CCI from prospective partners within the market.
  • Promote technical assistance and small business advancement opportunities
  • Cultivate a lending community made of individuals and local philanthropic and corporate lenders to support local businesses

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a related field
  • CDFI experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of basic accounting theories, credit principles, lending functions, loan research, cash flow, analysis, and general credit policies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commonly used loan documents and related forms.
  • A desire to help small businesses in your community
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and drive for success
  • Networking
