Transportation Scheduler

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current driver's license and ability to meet underwriting requirements of our insurance carrier.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required (we will certify on site)
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience working with a frail or elderly population required. Minimum of one year experience working as a driver or dispatcher. Previous experience transporting frail or elderly population with special mobility needs and safety requirements is strongly preferred. Intermediate to advanced computer skills, with ability to generate accurate records.

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and manages overall driver schedules on a weekly basis.
  • Performs On-Call duties for transportation related calls as assigned on a 24 hour basis, as the first on site responder in conjunction with the Transportation Coordinator.
  • Functions as a member of the IDT team in the absence of the Transportation Coordinator.
  • Represents transportation department at all Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT) discussions (Morning meetings, Care planning or Service Requests)
  • Maintains and updates all participant information in the transportation software - Name, Address, Phone #, Pick Up/Drop Off Time, Special instructions
  • Receives and signs for all medication packages delivered to Transportation department by external Pharmacy vendor.
  • Ensures that Vendor delivered medication packages is appropriately logged and re-assigned for driver distribution.
  • Coordinate routes in efficient manner for pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Work closely with the Appointment Scheduler to schedule drivers for outside and follow-up appointments.
  • Provides appointment pick-up information to the family via telephone.
  • Assign Carolina SeniorCare vehicles to drivers for routes and appointments.
  • Coordinates scheduling for new participant pick-ups for assessments as well as prospective participant guest days, with the Marketing/Enrollement department.
  • Process and print next day routes and place in respective drivers’ folders.
  • Coordinates with Transportation Coordinator in monitoring drivers’ hours to control and reduce overtime hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
