Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Reviews all patient account information ensuring all Financial related forms are complete and accurate at time of admission or change in levels of care.
2. Will serve as the point person for Caron in terms of financial for families, patients, internal departments, to answer questions and direct necessary information for private pay for out of network questions.
3. Will handle payment/discussions for all active patient accounts.
4. Prepares timely and accurate pre-service invoices and statements.
5. Oversees all active patient processes related to collecting timely payments.
6. Reviews patient-related financial reports for accuracy.
7. Works with appropriate responsible parties to arrange for payment plans or other funding alternatives per the financial agreement on file after the first 28 days and create payment screens for each level of according to funding arrangements through paid through date.
8. Communicates with internal departments providing account information as requested.
9. Responsible for outpatient pre-service invoicing and monitoring.
10. Provides exceptional customer service to patients/family members and respond to patient/family calls in a timely manner which aligns and support Caron core values.
11. Enters and approves ancillaries to billable status. Run Unbilled Ancillary usage report to correct missing unapproved ancillaries.
12. Supports when able the billing department with revenue cycle functions as directed.
13. Utilizes electronic systems and software so that maximum efficiencies occur when performing related revenue cycle functions.
14. Assists with the training and orientation of new employees as directed by Department Leadership.
15. Provides backup support to the Treasury Services Specialist in absence of.

Education / Experience Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Previous experience with collections or private pay account management required.
3. (2) years previous experience in an electronic patient accounting environment required.
4. Knowledge of health insurance medical billing policies and procedures preferred.
5. If in recovery, one year of continuous sobriety preferred

1. Proficiency with patient account management systems, including report preparation, distribution and follow-up.
2. Able to successfully perform in a high-pressure environment and respond to multiple priorities.
3. Ability to work as a member of a team and to proactively identify necessary changes to processes and procedures which lead to greater efficiencies.
4. Capable of resolving problems independently, coupled with the ability to discern the need for escalation and intervention.
5. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
6. Must possess strong technical knowledge and proficiency with computer software systems, specifically Microsoft products such as Power Point, Excel, and Word and data base management systems.
7. Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills and have a pleasant phone manner.
