**Position Title:** Ocean Drive Alumni & Family Coordinator

**Department:** Alumni

**Reports To:** Corporate Director of Alumni Relations

**Effective Date:** March 1, 2022

**Purpose:** To provide ongoing support and communication to all Ocean Drive Alumni through individual contact, service opportunities, and alumni events. To work collaboratively, within a national team, to support the mission and vision of Caron by fostering engagement and cultivating long lasting relationships.

**Degree of Supervision:** Bi-weekly individual supervision, bi-weekly group supervision, weekly department meetings

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

- Establish rapport with patients and families during treatment through alumni cultivation meetings.

- Manage Alumni Support Group, fellowship programs, service opportunities, alumni activities and events.

- Coordinate in-house alumni speakers for current patients.

- Coordinate Alumni Buddy and Family Buddy Programs for Ocean Drive and 4th Floor Keele Center patients by connecting potential, current, and post treatment clients/families with appropriate alumni and families.

- Lead planning and production of Ocean Drive/FL Alumni events, collaborating with RVP and Development team as appropriate.

- Engage alumni, families and friends through various communication channels including phone calls, visits, email, Emma messages, and the Caron Webpage.

- Assist the Development Team in identifying high-capacity families for development opportunities. Participate in monthly high-capacity calls with RVP and clinical team.

- Complete follow-up contacts with patients and families as per established practice and protocols, maintain and communicate family/patient buddy lists, recruit volunteers.

- Work collaboratively with Carons Development Team, OD Clinical Team, and Regional Recovery Centers.

- Provide continuing care packets to clients and families and assist with scheduling initial appointments. This packet includes clinical recommendations (made by primary therapist), continuing care goals, 12 step meetings, appointments, addresses and contact information.

- Conduct outcome survey calls.

- Acknowledge sobriety/recovery dates for alumni in a timely manner by sending anniversary cards.

- Advocate for patients, as appropriate to ensure they are getting the highest level of quality care.

- Coordinate and manage alumni return to treatment or campus including Progressive Recovery Workshop, Recharge Workshops and/or Alumni meetings.

- Follow all company, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding confidentiality.

- Document follow-up contacts completely and accurately in Raisers Edge, submit monthly reports with requested information for Executive and Board Reports.

- When conducting calls, involve the necessary treatment team resources to meet patient/alumni needs.

- Hold intake meetings and complete exit interviews with

- Assists patients in returning to treatment, if needed, in an empathic and supportive manner through warm hand-offs to admissions staff

- Notify the case manager immediately in the event of relapse or issue of clinical nature

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Light lifting (up to 20 lbs.)

- Ability to work extended hours and travel extensively.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelors Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field required; Masters Degree preferred; two years of treatment field experience.

- If in recovery, a minimum of two years of continuous sobriety required.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

- Excellent customer service and relationship building skills

- Proficient in Evaluating and Researching potential donors

- An understanding of the emotional and behavioral effects of addiction

- An understanding and working knowledge of the 12-step program

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- If in recovery, two years of continued sobriety preferred

- Ability to use clinical software, online marketing software and other computer programs

- Ability to interact with a variety of people

- Event support and execution

- Strong organizational skills
