We are a dynamic and fast-growing landscaping company seeking a skilled horticulturist to be part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in landscaping, particularly in horticulture and refined gardening. This role revolves around the precise nurturing and upkeep of upscale residential and commercial gardens, with a keen emphasis on visual allure and meticulousness. Horticulturists are instrumental in elevating the elegance, productivity, and eco-friendliness of our clients' outdoor spaces by leveraging their knowledge of plant science and cultivation methods.
Qualifications:
Experience in landscaping, specifically emphasizing fine gardening.
Proficient understanding of landscaping tools and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and part of a team; while making decisions.
Attention to detail
Managing gardening crews to complete daily horticultural tasks, including planting, watering, pruning, and fertilizing, using hand and gardening tools
Operating basic landscaping tools, including blowers, pruners, spades, and hoses
Inspecting plants to assess quality and health and to identify signs of disease or pests
Minimum of 2 years of field experience in landscape or public horticulture.
A firm knowledge of plant and weed identification
Responsibilities:
Upholding gardens to the utmost standards of appearance and health. This entails activities like planting, pruning, weeding, deadheading flowers, and grooming plants to enhance their aesthetic appeal.
Seasonal Planting and Design that are frequently engaged in seasonal planting and design tasks, fine gardeners meticulously select and arrange plants to craft visually captivating displays that evolve throughout the seasons.
Assess soil conditions, make necessary amendments, and apply suitable fertilizers to stimulate plant growth and vitality.
Utilize Integrated Pest Management strategies to handle pests and diseases.
Skillfully pruning trees and shrubs for optimal growth and aesthetics and to preserve their innate shapes, encourage flowering, and enhance overall plant health
