Central Illinois’ Largest Privately Owned Floor Covering Retailer Is looking for a full-time Receiving and Shipping Clerk

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving and Shipping Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Proficient Computer Skills
• At least 21 years of age

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receiving and cataloging incoming product.
• Managing computer-based inventory software.
• Follows and maintains operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and assists in keeping warehouse inventory current.
• Receive incoming shipments and verify the contents against purchase orders or invoices
• Update inventory records and maintain accurate stock levels
• Prepare incoming/outgoing shipments by printing and labeling items
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
• Perform basic math calculations to verify quantities and weights of shipments
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks to move goods within the warehouse
• Sort, label, and store received items in designated areas as needed
• Responsible for creating and communicating Receiving/Shipping errors to the proper agents/sales associates/purchasing.
• Monitor the staff’s inspection of shipments for accuracy.
• Track late trucks or no shows.
• Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance appropriate for the position and the situation.
• Maintain good working relationship with internal and external customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the facility and office area.
• Keep, all information pertaining to our operations (products, customers, production details, etc.) confidential
• Prepares all necessary paperwork and documentation for the receiving of material from vendors and the processing of work orders.
• Develops and maintains a good working relationship with all internal departments and with all outside suppliers and service providers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist with inventory as directed.
• Obtain, maintain and participate in all licensing, safety and OSHA requirements.
• Other duties may also be assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
