Carroll University seeks to hire an Adjunct Instructor of
Clinical Exercise Physiology
for the Fall 2024.
Course: EXP5511 A| Cardiopulmonary Testing
Time/Day(s): 11:30 am - 1:20 pm, TR, on campus
Qualifications: PhD in Exercise Physiology preferred. PhD. or terminal degree in a related field, M.S. in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or a related field will be considered. ACSM-CEP/clinical experience is preferred. Official transcripts due upon hire.
The Course: This lab-based course will provide students with the skills to properly perform a wide variety of clinical exercise test protocols for diagnostic and prognostic purposes using common testing modalities to include Holter monitoring. Students will learn how to properly monitor, assess, and interpret common variables during exercise testing.
The Program : The Clinical Exercise Physiology program incorporates extensive hands-on experiences through multiple practicums and internships. Coursework includes both lecture and lab, incorporating innovative approaches to medical screening, exercise assessment, exercise prescription and intervention, and rehabilitation. The mission of the Clinical Exercise Physiology is to prepare qualified professionals at the master's level to work in clinical rehabilitation settings, health promotion/preventative program settings, fitness and sport programs, functional training, and college/university settings. Upon graduation, students would possess the breadth and depth of knowledge and skills in the field to sit for a variety of clinical and related specialty certifications, and/or doctoral level work in exercise physiology or other allied health disciplines. Upon completion of program requirements, students will earn a Master of Science degree.
The College: The College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through nine departments: Athletic Training, Human Movement Sciences, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Pathologists' Assistant, and Public Health. The mission of the College of Health Sciences is to educate students to be innovative professionals who collaborate to serve the health needs of their communities. The College of Health Sciences currently accounts for ~60% of University enrollment. A dynamic and growing entity, College wide foci include interprofessional education and practice, the integrated approach to health, innovative learning and healthcare technologies, community partnerships and service to medically underserved populations. To support these initiatives the University has recently renovated a medical arts building to house and support its service learning and Community Health Service programs and partnered with the Waukesha Free Clinic at Carroll University. The College supports the interdisciplinary nature of health science education and has received federal and private foundation grant awards to support these, as well as program specific initiatives.
