We are excited to bring on a new team member in our corporate office and we are currently recruiting for a Safety & Risk Claims Coordinator to join our team.

The Safety & Risk Claims Coordinator will perform administrative duties related to Risk Management, Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Property Damage and other related functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process all coordination and management of Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and Property damage claims to obtain favorable outcomes.
  • Work directly with employees, carriers, guests and insurance companies in processing Workers’ Compensation and General Liability claims.
  • Manage return to work program. Ensure all facets of this program are done.
  • Daily contact with claims adjusters at Liberty Mutual and Frank Gates.
  • Understand the differences in work comp laws in separate states that Carrols operates in.
  • Must be able to decipher medical information, treatment and action plans to determine appropriateness.
  • Prepare necessary documentation required to process Workers’ Compensation claims required by State’s Workers’ Compensation Boards, including Out Of Work slips, wage statements, updating home address and phone numbers and medical reports. P
  • Prepare and attend Liberty Mutual claims reviews and prepare for Ohio claims review and audits. Occasional travel required.
  • Process self-insured property damage claims to collect monies from insurance company or liable party.
  • Identify safety hazards and communicate such to responsible parties, i.e. Safety & Risk Manager, District Managers and Restaurant General Managers to prevent future incidents.
  • Help prevent future injuries and reduce costs with continually advising managers and team members the importance of safety first.
  • Process and maintain all Shoes for Crews weekly reports and process payroll deductions or refunds. Process all reports for end of month closings for Shoes for Crews and process monthly statements for Accounts Payable.
  • Assist in processing monthly and quarterly P & L reports.
  • Responsible for the status and maintenance of the Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and Property Damage claims.
  • Must participate in CPR/AED training and become a listed First Responder.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Two-year degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2 to 4 years Safety and Risk, Claims, Benefits, or Human Resources experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have good customer service skills.
  • Must be able to perceive and react to the needs of others.
  • Must be organized, flexible and able to deal with various personalities.
  • Must be able to maintain a degree of confidentiality.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and other related software.
  • PeopleSoft
