CARSON VALLEY HEALTH is Hiring a Financial Analyst - Full Time Near Gardnerville, NV

Position SummaryUnder the general direction of the Controller, the Financial Analyst will provide the financial analysis support to the organization and is responsible for payroll processing. This role will assist with journal entries, monthly closings, reports, reconciliations, financial statements, and budget preparation. Support to external auditors, maintenance of spreadsheets, evaluation of accounting operations and internal control systems. Various other duties and projects as assigned.
Position RequirementsMinimum Education Required:
  • Associate degree in accounting or equivalent.
Minimum Education Preferred
  • BA/BS degree, preferred.
Minimum Work Experience Required
  • 3 years relevant experience required (5 years preferred).
  • Payroll processing experience including adherence to FLSA.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Quick books, Microsoft Word, Excel, and ADP with emphasis on general ledger systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, proven problem solving and experience in providing confidential administrative support.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles.
Position Essential FunctionsFinancial Analysis
  • Applies principles of cost and general ledger accounting to conduct studies and provide detailed cost information and analysis. Performs general accounting/ analyst functions.
  • Recommends cost efficiencies while working with various departments.
  • Ability to use educational and practical knowledge to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Evaluate daily and weekly metrics and take action to ensure favorable results to plan by month end.
  • Support the hospital to identify opportunities and implement action plans to improve forecast accuracy, cost savings, and efficiency.
  • Good interpersonal skills and written communication skills with the ability to communicate cost and financial information across the departments.
Payroll Functions
  • Processes payroll and distributes payroll checks.
  • Organizing record keeping for all payroll and time card records.
  • Process payroll maintenance forms for employees, which includes direct deposit, W4 changes, and general deduction forms.
  • Prepares on-demand payroll checks timely and accurately for terminations and adjustments.
  • Responsible for research related to salaries and accruals.
General Accounting
  • Provide Support to General Accounting.
  • Assist external auditors.
  • Be available for projects. Work on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial, patient, and employee information.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate information as well as the ability to evaluate accounting operation and/or control deficiencies and offer recommendations for corrective action.
  • Communication with employees involved with cash/bank transactions and with Managers to discuss expenses in their departments.
Month End
  • Assist with support with the monthly closing of our G/L.
  • Prepare, upload and post journal entries as assigned with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Knowledge and ability to assist in preparation of internal and external monthly financial statements and annual budget.
  • Assist with monthly actual to budget analysis.
