Our client, a water and sanitation utility special district (the “District”), is looking to hire a District Engineer. The District is on the cutting edge of water efficiency standards in the State with a robust water supply portfolio to include advancing regional rainwater harvesting, the only pilot project in the state.

This position will report directly to the Engineering Programs Manager.

Candidates must have a strong understanding of water and wastewater utilities operations and an interest in project management. The team is small, so you will be challenged to participate in a variety of duties required for a utility to function.

The office is located in Greenwood Village, CO and offers a hybrid office policy.

Requirements and preferences:

• Working knowledge of office software (MSWord, MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD, PowerPoint and CAD)
• Working knowledge of InfoWater or other modeling software preferred
• Ability to manage projects, consultants and contractors
• Ability to understand contract documents, drawings and specifications
• Ability to conduct on-site project evaluations and travel to meetings
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to follow up on issues until final resolution is achieved
• Must possess a valid Driver's license

Education and Experience:

• BS degree in civil engineering, or closely related technical field
• Possession of a Colorado Professional Engineer license is desired
• 5 years experience in water/wastewater utilities, civil or environmental engineering, or a field directly related
• Experience working directly for a municipality, water district, or consulting firm providing services to a municipality government preferred
