Role Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, this role will be responsible for managing all daily activities for the accounting and finance functions of the firm including treasury, fund and management company accounting, and finance operations. The Firm has a lean and dynamic team, and this role will be a great opportunity to gain broad experience in leading back-office operations for a growing Venture Capital firm.

Leadership

• Manage the accounting function bringing leadership, managerial expertise, and analytical rigor to the financial management and general accounting operations at the firm and fund administrator. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, and lead efforts in continuous improvement for the accounting function.

Fund Accounting (4 active funds SPVs GP entities)

• Oversee outsourced fund administrator to ensure timely and accurate fund reporting on a quarterly basis. Manage the preparation of quarterly financial statements for all LP & GP fund & SPV entities.
• Monitor appropriate expense allocations according to LPAs and policies.
• Partner with members of the investment and operations team alongside the valuation committee to prepare quarterly investment valuations.

Fund Operations

• Coordinate with the portfolio operations team to ensure timely deal fundings, including leading wire transfer call back verification, initiation of deal wires.
• Ensure maintenance of all executed legal agreements for each investment.
• Supervise maintenance of dashboards, budgets, and forecasts for the funds and SPVs.

Audit, Tax, and Compliance

• Direct efforts with our audit firm to ensure a timely and efficient annual audit process.
• Manage completion of all audit requests and assist in review of financial statements & footnotes prepared by our fund administration team.
• Collaborate with external fund administrator and tax preparer to ensure timely tax filings and K-1 issuance.
• Work with the Director of Finance and Chief Compliance Officer to ensure compliance with operations in respect to policies and procedures.

Treasury

• Drive treasury functions including user entitlements, banking and wire transfers, capital call planning, and distribution execution in coordination with the finance team and fund administrator.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years’ experience in accounting/finance, including experience in venture capital, private equity, or an alternative investment firm. Relevant experience includes experience at an Investment Firm, RIA, Fund Administrator, Public Accounting.
• CPA Preferred but not required.
• Excellent financial reporting, analytical, and problem‐solving skills.
• Partnership accounting and familiarity with tax concepts for partnership and corporations.
• Great excel skills, with ability to quickly setup financial models, ad‐hoc calculations, always utilizing powerful formulas to manage large sets of data efficiently.
• Attentive to detail with high integrity.
