Full-time Description Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a 40hr Registration Clerk/Medical Office Coordinator to join their Oncology clinic. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing patient information, handling front office duties, completing clerical tasks, scheduling appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic administrative functions. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for moving the patients through the intake and checkout process.
Ensures that all procedures, from pulling the correct files to charting insurance information are closely followed in order to aid in efficiency of patient care.
Triages calls and directs them to the correct level of staff (i.e., physician, nurse manager, office nurse).
Intake of new referrals and schedules appointments appropriately.
Maintains daily schedules, coordinates necessary meetings and appointments.
Collects appropriate data and prepares new patient working files and electronic records.
Knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to answer phones and converse courteously and in a professional manner
Interpersonal and customer service skills
Maintains a high standard of responsibility, accountability and flexibility
Maintains working knowledge of EMR systems provided for use in job.
Availability Requirements
Core hours are generally 0800 to 1600 Monday-Friday as scheduled clinic hours dictate need.
Depending on department staffing needs, may need to work outside these core hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
