Cary Park District is Hiring a Preschool Teacher (2024-2025 school year) Near Cary, IL
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing and conducting lessons and activities to promote students’ social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.
Essential Duties
- Plan appropriate classroom activities within guidelines of curriculum and Illinois State Board of Education Early Childhood Learning Standards
- Provide and maintain a neat, organized classroom, taking responsibility for upkeep of equipment and supplies
- Setup classroom with developmentally appropriate manipulatives and dramatic play areas
- Maintain notes and records assessing child’s growth and development to complete a progress report
- Create a monthly classroom calendar and biweekly teacher newsletter, highlighting curriculum, explaining purposefully planned activities and classroom reminders
- Establish constant parent communication through daily conversations, conferences, and progress reports, encouraging a home to school connection through nurturing, positive relationships
- Collect and file preschool forms completed by parents at the start of the school year
- Communicate matters of importance to the Preschool Director in a timely manner
- Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Preschool Staff Handbook and in accordance with District policy
- Maintain knowledge of special needs of children, complete allergy action plan file as necessary
- Attend staff meetings as requested
- Implement safety and risk management procedures as applicable to the recreation operation and District policy
- Uphold customer service standards in accordance with recreation operation and District policy
- Other duties as assigned by Preschool Director and Program Manager

Experience: Requires the completion of minimum employment standards established by the Department of Children and Family Services and experience or background in activity programming and leadership of children.
Certifications: CPR and First Aid
Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a reference check and criminal background check.
