Cary Park District is Hiring a Preschool Teacher (2024-2025 school year) Near Cary, IL

DescriptionMake an impact as a Preschool Teacher and join our team! The Cary Park District Preschool has a Preschool Teacher position open. The position is available for the morning and/or afternoon Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday class.
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing and conducting lessons and activities to promote students’ social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.
Essential Duties
  • Plan appropriate classroom activities within guidelines of curriculum and Illinois State Board of Education Early Childhood Learning Standards
  • Provide and maintain a neat, organized classroom, taking responsibility for upkeep of equipment and supplies
  • Setup classroom with developmentally appropriate manipulatives and dramatic play areas
  • Maintain notes and records assessing child’s growth and development to complete a progress report
  • Create a monthly classroom calendar and biweekly teacher newsletter, highlighting curriculum, explaining purposefully planned activities and classroom reminders
  • Establish constant parent communication through daily conversations, conferences, and progress reports, encouraging a home to school connection through nurturing, positive relationships
  • Collect and file preschool forms completed by parents at the start of the school year
  • Communicate matters of importance to the Preschool Director in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Preschool Staff Handbook and in accordance with District policy
  • Maintain knowledge of special needs of children, complete allergy action plan file as necessary
  • Attend staff meetings as requested
  • Implement safety and risk management procedures as applicable to the recreation operation and District policy
  • Uphold customer service standards in accordance with recreation operation and District policy
  • Other duties as assigned by Preschool Director and Program Manager

RequirementsEducation: 2 years of college/Associate’s Degree or experience in a preschool classroom setting. Early Childhood, Elementary Education or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Requires the completion of minimum employment standards established by the Department of Children and Family Services and experience or background in activity programming and leadership of children.
Certifications: CPR and First Aid
Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a reference check and criminal background check.
