Casa Grande Elementary School District 4 is Hiring a Teacher on Assignment (TOA) - McCartney SY 22/23 Near Casa Grande, AZ

The Teacher on Assignment works with the school principal to support classroom teachers as well as assist with the implementation and monitoring of effective discipline, policies, rules and regulations. The Teacher on Assignment shall be directly responsible to the Principal.

The Teacher on Assignment shall have performance responsibilities in the following areas:

Instructional Support:

  • Provide support to classroom teachers on a regular basis for the purpose of assisting in instruction and the implementation of curriculum.
  • Assist in the coordination of in-services to instructional staff members.
  • Provide classroom supervision during teacher absences when substitute coverage is unavailable.
  • Assist the Principal in the supervision and assignment of support staff.

Pupil Personnel:

  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of effective discipline policies, rules and regulations.
  • Assist with special events held to recognize student achievement.
  • Assist in providing support services to students requiring special education.
  • Assist in providing appropriate supervision of the students at all times during the school day and at all school sponsored activities.
  • Assist in supervising and inspecting all facilities, equipment, and programs to ensure the health and safety of students. 
  • Assist in coordinating the use of facilities and equipment for special events.
  • Assist in conflict resolution and mediation involving students, parents, and staff.
  • Assist the principal in developing and maintaining public relations program, which fosters awareness and understanding of school goals and ensures community input, involvement and support.
  • Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Superintendent, and Governing Board may assign from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • The Teacher on Assignment in the elementary schools shall have prior experience in school leadership or have completed at least nine (9) hours of educational leadership coursework at an accredited university.
  • They shall have a valid teaching certificate or proof of eligibility.
  • Ability to fulfill requirements to be Highly Qualified under ESSA.
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction; excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with all members of the staff and communicate effectively with parents. 
  • They shall have at least three years of successful teaching experience. 

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the building principal in accordance to the district staff evaluation policy.
