Casa Pacifica is Hiring a Development and Community Engagement Coordinator Near Camarillo, CA
Wage band range $20.75 - $30.00; however, starting pay is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity. The Development and Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Casa Pacifica’s donor-related programs while overseeing educational, workplace, and outreach opportunities to engage the community in Casa Pacifica’s mission and work. The Development and Community Engagement Coordinator reports directly to the Chief Development Officer and works with a variety of individuals, groups, Angels and Amigos Auxiliaries, donors, event guests, volunteers, staff and other constituents to ensure everyone who encounters Casa Pacifica has an excellent experience. Attending evening/weekend meetings and events and working nights and weekends in preparation for Casa Pacifica’s fundraising events is required. Duties And ResponsibilitiesDonor Relations
Strategically steward new donors, event attendees, advocates and volunteers through relationship building and engagement activities.
Assist with the development of new strategies to increase donor and volunteer engagement, satisfaction, retention and revenue growth.
Coordinate and track all data related to group tours/volunteers requested from the website.
Represent the organization at in-house, workplace, special, community and third-party events.
Donor and Community Outreach Correspondence
Acts as the backstop and support to the Chief Development Officer on the following outreach activity: thank-you process for in-kind, credit card, cash and check contributions; draft and mail thank-you letters/cards to community fundraising volunteers.
Responsible for volunteer database management; creating and updating accounts; maintaining systems for tracking gifts, volunteerism and engagement.
Actively seek potential donors, event attendees, advocates and volunteers through various outlets including corporate businesses, local networking, social media, community groups, schools and donor relationships etc.
Provide up to date records to Chief Development Officer and collaborate to determine and develop points of entry and primary points of contact to develop outreach and speaking opportunities for Casa Pacifica.
Coordinates Annual Children’s Holiday Wish List Donation Drive
Business Development
Assist the Chief Development Officer in monitoring, evaluating and expanding corporate business partnerships.
Coordinate key partnership highlights with corporations, community groups, schools, and individuals through marketing and social media platforms with the Communications Manager.
Event and Fundraising Coordination
Serves as internal point of contact for all fundraising activities.
Supports the review and adjudication of fundraising event proposals.
Coordinates contact with outside vendors for various fundraising event-related needs.
Coordinates with local agencies to ensure Casa Pacifica remains compliant with special event policies.
Drafts and provides administrative support for fundraising emails and newsletters.
Supports each community fundraiser or committee with event planning details.
Supports Chief Development Officer on all fundraising and outreach events and serves as liaison for community fundraising initiatives.
Works with Development Team to coordinate all follow-up for fundraising events, including thank-you process, after action reports, and all fundraising reports and reconciliation in Raiser’s Edge records.
Volunteer Engagement
Serves as liaison between Casa Pacifica and corporate groups/organizations, assists with planning and execution of group volunteer days and follow-up correspondence.
Attends and leads large and small group service projects.
Responsible for; assisting staff with volunteer needs assessment, managing yearly volunteer needs, creating volunteer communications, creating and tracking volunteer registration, advertising volunteer opportunities on social media, tracking volunteer hours, drafting, and mailing volunteer thank-you letters/notes.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Communications, Marketing Communications, or Event Planning and Management Degree with 3 years experience. CREDENTIALS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong knowledge of Word and Excel. The position requires a working knowledge and ability to utilize various social media marketing platforms. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a range of people. Detailed orientated, excellent organization skills, be self-motivated, energetic and flexible. Must have the ability to handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines. The position requires the ability to be a team player committed to relationship-building for the agency. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. Communication Skills: Strong social and interpersonal communication skills are essential.: Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Driving Ability: Must have and maintain a current California driver's license.
