Cascadia Consulting Group, Inc. is Hiring a Contracts Support Associate Near Seattle, WA

Cascadia Consulting Group is a women-owned, private environmental consulting firm with 31 years of experience developing and implementing innovative solutions to today's environmental challenges. Cascadia works with public and private-sector clients to advance sustainability through recycling and materials management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy efficiency, pollution prevention, transportation demand management, and water and natural resources management. The Cascadia team brings both established expertise and creative thinking to research and analysis, strategic planning, program design and implementation, outreach, social marketing and behavior change, and evaluation roles. From our offices in Oakland (CA), Seattle (WA), and some remote employees, we serve clients across the country and abroad.
At Cascadia, we strive to create an equitable and inclusive environment at all levels of the organization. Having staff and partnerships that reflect the diverse communities we serve empowers us to shape innovative and effective solutions together with those most impacted by social, human, and environmental health challenges.
Position Overview:
Cascadia Consulting Group is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual to join our Contracts team. The Contracts Support Associate position will work alongside the Contracts Manager to ensure compliance with insurance requirements within contracts, maintain our Contract records through our contracts management system, IronClad, and work with subcontractors to ensure insurance compliance. This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking for growth opportunities in contracts administration with a company committed to sustainability and equity.
This is a part-time position at 75%, or 30 hours per week. This benefits-eligible position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing a career in Contracts and who seeks a more flexible workplace with an equitable and inclusive mission.
Examples of everyday tasks may include:
  • Review insurance requirements in contracts and request and disburse certificates of insurance (COIs) to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor, archive, and maintain completed contract files within the contract management system.
  • Review COIs received from subcontractors to ensure compliance with both Subcontract and Main Contract requirements. Assist subcontractors with the interpretation of insurance requirements.
  • Audit and maintain the list of active COIs and determine retention for each in alignment with project requirements.
  • Assist with insurance renewals by working with project managers to provide updated insurance.
  • Support the creation of training materials to assist with informing project managers about insurance compliance.
  • Provide back-up support on contracts reviews on an as-needed basis, dependent on experience.
Qualifications:
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, Cascadia's mission to "inspire and empower communities everywhere to protect and restore our world" in an equitable and inclusive way.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in an environment of routine and consistency.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the desire to build rapport with stakeholders.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability interpret contract language and relay language to stakeholders in writing and verbally.
  • Commitment to working both in teams and independently to advance common goals and create high-quality work products. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, detail- and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience using collaborative tools such as Google Drive, SharePoint, etc.
  • Basic to intermediate experience-and a willingness to expand skills-in producing documents with Microsoft Office 365 programs, such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and/or Adobe products.
We encourage you to apply if you think you'll be successful in this job. This position is an Associate with our Firm (distinguished from a Project Coordinator or Senior Associate.) The experience and education typical to demonstrate this level of ability is a four-year degree in a related field (e.g., business) and at least 2 years of relevant experience of progressive responsibility. Note: CA rate would be increased by 8% location differential. Initial placement for this position is a Range 2 or Range 3 on our corporate team, with placement and compensation offer dependent on experience and demonstrated skills and abilities through the selection process, and opportunity for advancement.
