The Education Manager plays a strategic role in leading educational initiatives within the organizational setting. This position oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of staff across all departments within the organization. The Education Manager collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices in healthcare education.
Supervisory Positions: Manages, coaches and evaluates educators within the department. These roles include both clinical and nonclinical educators.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive education plan to include strategy and tactics that are aligned with the hospital's mission, vision, and strategic goals, in collaboration with senior leadership and department heads for advance knowledge and competency within the organization.
Team Leadership: Provide management and guidance to a team of education specialists, trainers, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Program Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of educational programs, including orientation sessions, continuing education initiatives, skills development workshops, community outreach programs, and apprenticeships, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints. The manager will also work with their education team to delegate the responsibilities based on department needs and areas of expertise.
This includes but is not limited to the following:
Needs Assessment and Curriculum Development: Work with Education staff, and department directors/managers to conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify learning gaps. Develop, implement and/or manage training requirements among staff, utilizing data-driven approaches to inform curriculum development and program prioritization. Lead the design and development of educational curricula, learning materials, and resources, leveraging instructional design principles and best practices.

Quality Assurance: Establish quality assurance processes and mechanisms to monitor the effectiveness of educational programs, conduct regular evaluations, and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on feedback and performance metrics.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with departmental leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners to coordinate interdisciplinary education initiatives, promote knowledge sharing, and facilitate cross-functional teamwork.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and industry guidelines related to staff education and training, maintaining accurate documentation and records of training activities.
Professional Development: Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in healthcare education, attending conferences, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Nursing, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Five years of experience in healthcare education or educational leadership. Previous management or curriculum development experience preferred.
Strong leadership and management skills, with demonstrated experience in team building, coaching, and performance management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in instructional design methodologies, learning management systems, and educational technology tools.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and industry trends related to staff education and training.
Proven track record of project management, program development, implementation, and evaluation in a healthcare or educational setting.
