MATHEMATICS AT CASTILLEJA
Our curriculum is designed to support students in improving their computational skills, extending their conceptual understanding, and enhancing their problem-strategizing abilities. In class, students engage in individual and collaborative problem-solving as they solidify and extend core mathematics skills, explore underlying principles, and discover connections among topics. We encourage our students to discuss, explore, and compare alternative approaches to solving a problem, to promote critical thinking, and to leverage the wide variety of student strengths in the class.
This position involves teaching one section of Algebra I Integrated, a small and highly differentiated class of 9th graders; supporting classroom instruction in the classroom through small pull-out groups (8-10 hours/week); working one-on-one with 9th - 12th graders during free periods and study halls for Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics (6-8 hours/week); and meeting with Math Department colleagues on a regular basis (1-2 hours/week).
Key Qualifications:

• Prior experience and/or commensurate professional experience
• Undergraduate degree in relevant field of study

• Castilleja uses a competitive salary scale which takes into account the range of experience, education and skill level. The yearly salary for this 75% position ranges from $62,025to $93,750.
