Hiring for: Part-Time Count Room Clerk

Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) is looking to fill a part-time count room clerk position. Primary tasks include counting farebox receipts, preparing bank deposits, rolling tokens and delivering them to local outlets, and cleaning and maintaining machinery used to count coins and currency. The preferred candidate will be dependable, organized, and capable of maintaining confidentiality.Typical work is 25 hours per week, five (5) days per week mid-August – May, with roughly two-thirds (2/3) of those hours required during the summer months. Some hours must be worked in the mornings.Some pertinent responsibilities of the position are listed below.

Performs fare box cash and token reconciliation, using appropriate counting machinery.
Prepares bank deposits of farebox coin and currency by denomination as required by bank or prepares bank deposits for pick up by armored carrier.
Prepares reports and deposit tickets for accounting staff as required to document and substantiate deposit amounts.
Conducts quality control count on designated fare boxes.
Prepares additional related reports as requested.
Counts tokens from farebox, prepares rolls of tokens, and delivers tokens to various local outlets.
Maintains the count room in a clean and orderly state. Performs routine light maintenance on counting machines and monitors machine accuracy.
Supports the Senior Staff Accountant with review of all non-vehicle asset purchases and corresponding asset tags.
Performs asset inventories by department on a routine basis, coordinates with Senior Staff Accountant for the disposal of assets.
All other tasks as assigned.

Hourly rate: $15.00
