GENERAL SUMMARY:

Catalyst Creative is looking for a private label apparel Technical Design Intern for swim and sportswear. This key position will work directly with the Technical Design team. This position requires an eagerness to learn garment constructions, fabric bases, and general details. The ideal intern should contribute to a positive culture and have outstanding team-building skills. Candidates must be organized, self-motivated, detail orientated, have excellent written/oral communication skills and a POSITIVE attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support Technical Design team

• Accurately measure samples

• Help prepare and attend Fittings

• Input specs and measurements per style and assist with Fit evaluations

• Manage Fit photos and prepare them for Fit evaluations.

• Maintain WIP sample tracking and sample storage.

• Communicate, interface, and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Design, Product Development, Production, Technical Design, Merchandising and Sales

• Perform other related duties as assigned

RREQUIREMENTS:

• Strong multitasking, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively

• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Experience in PDM / PLM software a plus but not required.

• Experience with patternmaking and digital Pattern Design Software is a plus but not required.

• Must be able to be flexible regarding job duties and pivot daily tasks as needed.

• Minimum experience: current fashion design student or recent graduate to 1-2 years relevant experience in apparel imports.
