Job Description

As the Applications Director for Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain Applications, you will play a pivotal role in transforming and optimizing Catapult Solutions Group's business processes and enabling technologies. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the company's strategic direction, ensuring seamless integration of systems, and driving operational excellence across the organization.

In this role, you will oversee the full application lifecycle, from conceptualization and planning to deployment and support, for the ERP, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain application portfolios. Your responsibilities will encompass leading a team of analysts, programmers, and support staff, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with the company's overall IT and business unit strategies.

You will serve as a key point of contact for business partners, providing strategic guidance and shaping optimal technology solutions that enable the company to achieve its goals more effectively. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of best practices, methodologies, and architectural standards, ensuring compliance and promoting knowledge sharing across cross-functional teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the transformation of Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and Record to Report business processes through deep functional and deployment expertise in ERP, MRP, and MRO systems.
  • Guide the transformation of Engineering portfolios and enabling technologies, including PDM, CAD systems, and related applications.
  • Lead technology selection processes and develop application roadmap solution deployment plans.
  • Apply technology and operational leadership skills, utilizing Agile or Waterfall methodologies for application design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Identify emerging technologies and trends to enhance business capabilities and drive process improvements.
  • Manage teams responsible for supporting, enhancing, evaluating, and implementing new and existing business applications.
  • Serve as the Applications Architect, providing technical direction, guidance, and hands-on systems engineering design.
  • Ensure solutions align with Catapult Solutions Group's security standards and requirements.
  • Contribute to IT management activities, including budgeting, process improvement, project management, vendor management, and strategic planning.
  • Act as a primary resource for corporate and business unit senior management on current systems and future technology needs.
  • Drive major incident recoveries, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.
  • Manage solution releases and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Develop and manage applications according to a strategic plan, ensuring growth opportunities and superior customer service.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement major systems, as well as manage conversions from existing systems.
  • Collaborate with other IT disciplines to ensure architectural consistency and quality solutions.
  • Foster an effective organizational structure, including efficient workflows, performance standards, and clear responsibilities.
  • Coach and develop staff, maximizing individual performance, enhancing teamwork, and aligning with the organization's values and strategies.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of executive-level experience (Director), with systems development executive experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing distributed software development teams, with multi-disciplinary team leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Software Development experience.
  • Expertise in program and project management, with the ability to handle multiple complex projects concurrently.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong desire to achieve excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality, and reliability.
  • Natural orientation towards solving systems issues quickly and reliably.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Passion for technical challenges and finding elegant, sustainable solutions.
  • Demonstrated functional expertise in P2P, O2C, and R2R processes (Manufacturing ERP, MRP, MRO systems), including current and emerging best practices.
  • Demonstrated functional expertise in Engineering and PDM technologies (AutoDesk, Ship Constructor, Solidworks, etc.).
  • Proficiency in developing solution requirements from business to functional to technical levels.
  • Expertise in constructing value propositions or benefits cases for solution proposals.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies and strong knowledge of all phases of the system development life cycle.
  • Strong understanding of applications architecture processes, design patterns, and standards.
  • Experience with automated testing methods and tools.
  • Strong understanding and experience in systems integration methods, including web services and API orchestration.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
