The firm prides itself on its core values of integrity, professionalism, and client-centric approach.Job DescriptionThe E-Billing Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and efficient electronic billing processes within the firm.
This position is responsible for handling all aspects of the e-billing cycle, from engagement to completion. The successful candidate will foster and maintain professional relationships with attorneys, clients, and other staff members to ensure compliance with attorney and client billing requirements.
The E-Billing Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and processing electronic bills through various e-billing platforms, including the E-Billing Hub and client-chosen vendors.
This includes tasks such as budgeting, transaction validation, loading accruals, bill transfer, and documentation. Additionally, the role involves complying with e-billing format requirements, such as Uniform Task Based Management Systems (UTBMS) code sets and LEDES formatting, as required by clients.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesFoster and maintain professional relationships with attorneys, clients, and other staff members to ensure compliance with billing requirements.
Maintain and process electronic bills through the E-Billing Hub or client-chosen e-billing vendors, including budgeting, transaction validation, loading accruals, bill transfer, and documentation.
Comply with e-billing format requirements (UTBMS code sets, LEDES formatting, etc.) as required by clients.Process all transactions related to requests for pro forma, bill edits, and bills, including narrative edits, time / cost transfers, hour and value adjustments, unbilled write-offs, rate revelations, and dividing entries.
Diligently monitor and address e-billing issues and rejections.Maintain special client rate tables and bill formats as requested by attorneys.
Review and process unbilled write-offs.Assist attorneys and secretaries with e-billing problems, reports, or client inquiries.
Assist in preparing weekly and monthly e-billing reports and pro formas as needed.Assist the Billing Manager and / or Billing Supervisor with special projects and reports as required.
Required Experience / SkillsExperience with electronic billing submission through various e-billing platforms.High school graduate;
some college work preferred.Minimum of 2 years of billing experience in a professional services environment.Proficient in computer skills, including : Excel (formatting worksheets, creating formulas, sorting data).
Client billing applications via Internet or file transfer methods.Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word).Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Understanding of general accounting concepts.Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all personnel levels.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Nice-to-HavesExperience with legal billing software or systems.Knowledge of legal terminology and billing practices.
Familiarity with UTBMS and LEDES billing formats.EducationHigh school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
