Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston is Hiring a Human Services - Outreach worker -recovery connections Near South Boston, MA

The Recovering Connections Coordinator/Outreach Workersupports women of various ages who are impacted by the substance addiction of a loved one and/or the death of a loved one due to substance addiction. Coordinator/Outreach worker will plan and execute weekend retreats, as well as respond to ongoing requests for supportive counseling and case management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Connect with individuals or families who seek help in dealing with the daily challenges of a loved one struggling with sobriety or who has died as a result of substance addiction.
  • Provide support services such as education, counseling, coping skills and grief strategies as appropriate. Services may be provided in the office or at off-site location, by phone, or by Zoom. 
  • Coordinate and facilitate a minimum of two off-site weekend retreats annually. Functions include securing location, recruiting and screening participants, collaborating with volunteers, and executing retreat.
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly one day gatherings in person or via Zoom to re-enforce coping skills, continue substance addiction education, and deepen mutual support systems.
  • Organize and lead quarterly meetings with Recovering Connections advisory group to keep current on the disease of addiction and enhance collaboration with other service providers.
  • Complete all required forms and program data in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and workshops as required.
  • Travel to retreat locations and other sites as needed.
  • Provide services during evening or weekend hours as appropriate.
  • Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field preferred, LADC-1 or LADC-2 preferred.
  • Knowledge of substance addiction and a minimum of 2 years experience working with this population.
  • Competency in various treatment models, such as AA 12 Steps Programs, SMART, Harm Reduction, SBIRT, and Medication-Assisted Treatment.
  • Excitement for initiating outreach and expanding the program.
  • Solid clinical skills and knowledge of local resources.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated individual with the ability and willingness to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and video communication platforms.
