JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates the daily functions of the department, including working with clients, staff direction and completion of administrative duties for assigned department(s). Serves as a leader of resident advocacy and support linking housing to supportive services provided by public or private agencies.

JOB DUTIES: 

  1. Supervises daily the activities of the Resident Services staff; assists in the interviewing, hiring, and training of new staff members; meets periodically with staff as outlined in program procedures; evaluates performance of staff members; handles communication difficulties between staff members to promote good working relationships. Coordinates with Resident Services Program Manager and CCCS Volunteer Services to suggest and review assignment of interns/volunteers to Resident Services sites, as well as provide support/training to volunteers and interns on service delivery as outlined for each program site. 
  2. Serves as agency representative at resident housing communities’ functions, including giving presentations as opportunities arise. Oversees production, posts, dissemination, and submission for reporting monthly newsletters and calendars. 
  3. Helps maintain documentation of resident housing services and prepares reports as needed or requested; documents progress of programs, activities, and partnerships. Helps capture and report program and service offerings and participant engagement. Utilizes findings to improve resident service program work.
  4. Reviews with Resident Services Manager each Resident Services Site’s required activities; develops an implementation plan for each site activities. 
  5. In partnership with the Program Manager, helps design and promote new processes and service offerings related to community engagement and service delivery and coordinates needed resources, supplies and materials. 
  6. Participates in the process of ongoing personal and professional development. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external).
  7. Identifies, Leads, and Coordinates monthly staff trainings on topics such as but not limited to: Mental Health 101, De-Escalation Techniques, Vulnerable Populations, Domestic Violence, etc. Identifies and conducts outreach to supportive community resources for vulnerable and at-risk populations.
  8. Provides resources and information to Resident Services staff. Supports and strengthens staff knowledge of community resources through regular follow-up and communications; leads and develops collaboration of new and existing faith-based and community partnerships. 
  9. Helps oversee grant research, proposal ideas, and deadlines. Contributes to preparation and submission with the guidance of the Philanthropy team.
  10. Model professional standards and ethics in accordance with agency philosophy. 
  11. Participate in and support PQI initiatives to include attending appropriate program leadership meetings and attending all relevant PQI meetings to ensure organization wide involvement in PQI and the development of program performance measures. Supervisors must also develop and provide appropriate staff training and support the recognition of accomplishments relative to PQI.
  12. Promote ongoing commitment to excellence and continual quality improvement to ensure the highest quality of services to our staff and clients.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education /Background:  Minimum of a High School Diploma with 4 years of equivalent work experience in group activity creation and coordination, community engagement experience. Experience working with culturally diverse populations including children, families, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred. Experience in low-income communities or affordable housing communities preferred. Experience in customer service industry a plus. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  2. Job Knowledge: Must have knowledge and understanding of human behavior, social work theories and techniques as well as community resources including federal and applicable state entitlement programs. Knowledge of economic, educational and social problems related to low-income and special populations. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the agency and community. Strong leadership skills with an ability to supervise volunteers and interns. Proven public speaking and relationship building skills and competency. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications (Word & Outlook). 
  3. Working Conditions/Physical Demands Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate interruptions. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Primarily office work, travel within area on a frequent basis, travel to other areas of state as needed. Evening and weekend hours required as needed. Must be able to visually and auditory assess and interact with clients to ensure their safety and wellbeing. May lift up to 25 pounds
  4. Other requirements:
    1. Valid AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to show proof of registration/insurance.
    2. You must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic Charities.
    3. Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance. 

Hourly rate startingat $19 and may increase depending on experience.
