A renowned agency like Catholic Charities requires a phenomenal people to support their efforts. We are currently looking for a Grant Writer, to join and support the administrative team.

Catholic Charities - Grant Writer (Full time)

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week; flexible; non-exempt position; hybrid position. In-person presence may be required up to 5 days per week as needed to meet with Development Director, program leaders, funders, and to contribute to and attend events.

Location: Clifton NJ

SUMMARY OF JOB: Reporting to the Development Director and working collaboratively with the Executive and Program Directors, the Grant Writer will be responsible for producing high-quality grant proposals within a specified time frame that result in funding. They will be a key part of the Development team and will contribute to all Development projects and events as needed. This position requires travel to other locations, programs, meetings, etc..

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, creative writing or related field
    • Advanced degree preferred.
    • CFRE certification preferred.
    • Grant writing certification preferred.
  • Fundraising experience, with a specific history of applying for and obtaining foundation grants.
  • Displays a passion for helping the poor and those in need. Relates to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, namely the care for all of God’s creation.
  • Minimum 2 years grant writing experience.
  • Familiarity with Tri-state area/Catholic institutional funders and human services funders a plus.
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills; demonstrates leadership in developing strategies and implementing initiatives that are conducive to the overall success of Catholic Charities.
  • Proven record of delivering results and meeting goals. Ability to successfully execute multiple, simultaneous projects on time with quality results.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with funders and prospective funders.
  • Demonstrates ability to think strategically and creatively about engaging funders, and to develop plans of action and follow through.
  • Passionate, innovative self-starter, accountable for results, ability to take initiative, detail oriented, efficient, and able to balance and prioritize tasks and projects in a constant changing fast-paced setting.
  • Proof of a valid New Jersey driver's license, adequate automobile insurance coverage and vehicle for use on the job.
  • Team player and ability to work collaboratively with leadership staff.
