Catholic Charities of Baltimore is Hiring a Family Care Coordinator Near Halethorpe, MD

Pay Rate: $52,500 (annual salary)

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, VMCR is currently seekingFamily Care Coordinatorwho will provide trauma-informed with a child and their family when there is a significant impairment in the child’s functioning in one or more of the domains of school, family, and/or community. Grant funding is available to support this position. The FCC uses a family engagement tool to identify strengths and needs of the family and eventually creates a care plan with goals the family helps to create. The FCC supports the family’s pursuit of these goals using their knowledge of the community and support agencies as well as motivational interviewing skills with the ultimate goal of improving child and family functioning in the domains identified. The work schedule will be: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have an interest in and beginning knowledge of the support agencies and resources for families.
  • Must have an interest in working with families with an affirming, engaging and motivating approach.
  • Must have the ability to coordinate meetings and written and verbal communications with outside providers, especially schools.
  • Keeps a written record of work, in particular the family assessment and ongoing meetings with family members or providers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School/GED and 5 years of work experience with emotionally disturbed children and adolescents and their families.

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, or related field and one year of work experience with emotionally disturbed children and adolescents and their families

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Shows reliability by being punctual to meetings with family members and outside agencies.
  • Excellent relational skills with courteous demeanor toward families and providers.
  • Can develop a schedule in collaboration with their supervisor to meet the needs of a caseload of 12-15 families.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to engage families who are experiencing setbacks and discouragement.
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening.
  • Service-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Requires the ability to utilize computer systems and software necessary to perform position functions. Basic Windows PC, web browsing (i.e., Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), and Microsoft Outlook skills required. Other Microsoft Office application knowledge, such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, Skype, and OneDrive desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one work site to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with others.
  • Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) is required for this position. Driver must be at least 21 years of age, with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience, and a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence. There can be no state-issued restrictions on the licenses that would impede a driver’s ability to operate the vehicle as required by the Agency, and there must not be more than three (3) points on their driving record.
