Catholic Charities East Bay (CCEB) is looking for a Mental Health Therapist who is passionate about working with adults and youth who have experienced complex trauma. Services may be provided at school sites, community sites, client homes, and/or in the CCEB offices. There may be some telehealth as well.

Position Summary:

This position will have primary responsibility for providing trauma-informed individual, group and family treatment services to children , youth, and adults in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Therapists may be assigned to specific CCEB locations in Oakland, Richmond, or Concord or be placed in other community locations in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The Mental Health Therapist will deliver culturally responsive services and should have experience working with ethnically and culturally diverse populations. Additionally, the therapist may partner with a Catholic Charities restorative practices specialist to create and support a trauma-informed and restorative community culture.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide induvial, group, and family therapy to children, youth , and adults referred to CCEB mental health programs.
• Deliver client-centered, developmentally appropriate, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Facilitate restorative social-emotional and clinical and psychoeducational groups in schools and community settings.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, school personnel, parents and caregivers, and community members from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Provide services in client and family homes appropriate.
• Provide consultation, training and psychoeducation regarding trauma and trauma-informed responses as needed.
• Adhere to timely and accurate clinical documentation and data collection requirements.
• Conduct strengths-based assessments, service plans and treatment plans.
• Other duties that fall within the scope of practice to be determined by CCEB leadership.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements:

• EDUCATION: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university majoring in social work, marriage and family therapy, or clinical counseling.
• A minimum of 1 year providing clinical counseling services to individuals, groups or families. Graduate school practicum placements may be counted toward years of services for new graduates.
• BBS REGISTRATION: Possess a license or be license eligible as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or or be a registered AMFT , APCC,or ASW the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• Experience in delivering short-term and long-term counseling. This must include individual counseling, as well as family counseling and group counseling. Knowledge of evidenced-based clinical models preferred.

• Ability to interact and communicate with clients and their families who have experienced pervasive traumas and provide therapeutic services linking clients to community resources.
• Experience with restorative practices preferred.
• Ability to drive to and from various service locations including CCEB offices, school sites, and other community locations as needed and possession of a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to reliable vehicle.
• TB test, fingerprinting and background check with clearance to work with children and youth is required.

Full Time/Part Time Status: The Mental Health Therapist works 35 hours a week (FT) and is eligible for benefits, including paid vacation and sick leave, medical and dental insurance, agency 403B contribution match, life and disability insurance.
