Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio is Hiring a Mental Health Specialist Near Cincinnati, OH

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Specialist will support the Mental Health Services team in providing mental health and wellness to individuals, families and communities in Greater Cincinnati. The mental health specialist will provide therapeutic behavioral services and case management to individuals and families. Services offered will also include trainings, classes and mental wellness skills groups. These services will be provided onsite at CCSWO office, in schools, and community settings.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide case management through needs assessments, care coordination, client advocacy and stabilization services.
  • Provide therapeutic behavioral services through psychoeducation, solution focused interventions, and emotional and behavioral management.
  • Provide mental health consultation to prospective clients and referral sources.
  • Assist with individual service plans for all assigned clients.
  • Complete clinical documentation within expected timeframes.
  • Facilitate and support psychosocial skills groups in school based and office-based settings
  • Provide training and education on mental health in English and Spanish to clients and community partners
  • Participate in mental health outreach events such as health fairs, mental health first aide trainings and community presentations
  • Actively participate as a positive member of the agency environment.
  • Complete all required agency trainings.
  • Maintain case files within electronic health record (EHR) that are up to date and within expected guidelines.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings as required.
  • Abide by the agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Uphold the agency’s mission statement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (including but not limited to completion of Social Security/Disability forms, authorization and billing forms, phone calls, and participating in case consultation meetings).

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Public speaking skills
  • Willingness to work in school and community settings
  • Understanding of mental illness and preventative interventions
  • Willingness to work well with team members and community partners

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling or psychology
  • Licensed social worker or clinical counselor

Must be able to meet the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:
