POSITION SUMMARY :
George Mason University Fairfax, VA
Campus Ministry promotes, encourages, and engages all aspects of faith life on campus. Campus Ministry coordinates Masses, spiritual activities, and programs that seek to bring students, faculty, and staff into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
The Campus Minister assists the Chaplain to form and fashion a Catholic community through faith formation and sharing, sacramental preparation, liturgy and worship, and community outreach programs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES :
QUALIFICATIONS :
Knowledge / Skills : Knowledge about community, campus and diocesan resources that further the life and goals of the campus faith community.
Ability to apply a pastoral sensitivity in developing and nurturing positive relationships with a variety of constituencies.
Ability to articulate a personal vision of spirituality, justice and community. An openness to and respect for people of all faiths.
Strong commitment to evangelization. Must have a high level of integrity, ethics and professionalism. Must be self-motivated, willing to take personal initiative, and able to work both independently and with a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
