The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and Holy Name High School are pleased to accept applications for the role of Theology Teacher.

ESSENTAIL JOB FUNCTIONS: • As a member of the school faculty, the Theology instructor will be responsible for teaching 9th-12th grade Catholic theology classes as assigned by the principal. • Have considerable knowledge of Catholic theology and a passion for teaching young people. • Develop and implement the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Education. • Maintain a safe and effective learning environment. • Provide outstanding and engaging instruction to students. • Monitor students and complete other school-related responsibilities as assigned by the principal. • Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with students, parents, and school administrators.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will be practicing Catholics with a good understanding of the Catholic faith and a strong commitment to Church teachings who have a strong interest in educating young people in the history and practices of the Catholic Church. • Bachelor’s degree or higher (master’s preferred but not required). • Theology Certification through the Cleveland Catholic Diocese/OCE • Strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese of Cleveland and Catholic Church. • Prior experience teaching similarly aged students is preferred, but not required. • All candidates must either hold a current Ohio teaching license or have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a willingness to obtain the required teaching certification. • Candidate must also be able to pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Cleveland VIRTUS program.
