**Overview**

At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body mind and spirit of every person in a more comfortable less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services heart and vascular care emergency services surgery maternity cancer care and diagnostic imaging.

The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and maintaining initiatives for the Inpatient & Outpatient Nursing Units. Areas supported include but not limited to the following: Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Burn Trauma Unit, Medical-Surgical Unit, Observation Unit, Emergency Department, Women's & Children's Departments, and campus-specific services such as infusions, blood transfusions and injections performed in the Inpatient and Outpatient Nursing Departments.

**Manager-Emergency Services**

**Location: CUMC-Bergan Medical Center**

_Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations._

_Oversees the functional and technical job performance of team members._

_Allocates and directs staffing needs to meet patient, unit and Hospital needs, and collaborates with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met._

_Manages performance including: goal-setting, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognize, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments using corrective action._

_Monitors and oversee Customer and patient engagement, growth, quality initiatives and patient safety for multiple departments, utilizing regulatory and organizational knowledge and policy for multiple areas as separate functions._

_Coordinates and manages operating systems, operational standardization, service standards and communication methods in line with system policies and processes._

_Ensures optimal utilization of department resources within guidelines set forth through capital and operational budget planning, implementation of practices that achieve defined objectives, and benchmark data._

_Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable Joint Commission, federal, state and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards._

_Provides high quality services at reasonable costs by managing programs, policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility. Monitors and ensures implementation of evidence-based clinical standards of nursing practice._

**Qualifications**

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required. Current Registered Nurse License in Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska and Iowa are compact states, so license must be held in the state of your residence.

BLS certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR/PRO, must say "Professional Level-with AED," and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

**Pay Range**

$38.63 - $56.01 /hour
