Catholic Recruiter Associates is Hiring a Director of Planned Giving Near Providence, RI

Director of Planned Giving: The Catholic Foundation of Rhode Island

• Responsible for developing, cultivating, and managing an annual plan to capture philanthropic support through planned gifts from diocesan donors. The goals are to create new endowed funds and enhance existing ones at the Catholic Foundation of Rhode Island.

• The Director is responsible for managing a pool of prospects and will work closely with the Office of Stewardship and Development, which oversees and manages the Catholic Charity Appeal, which is the annual fund for the Diocese of Providence.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop a plan with measurable objectives and outline courses of actions during the year.

• Identify and research prospective donors and funding sources and develop cultivation and solicitation strategies.

• Coordinate and personally participate in one-on-one cultivation visits and gift solicitations.

• Ensure past donors are properly stewarded and re-solicited when appropriate.

• To establish intermediate and long-range goals for the CFRI in concert with the Bishop of Providence, the Catholic Foundation of Rhode Island Board of Advisors, the Chief Financial Officer, and the Vicar of Planning and Finance.

• With the Executive Director and marketing consultants, market CFRI through recognition societies, stories for various publications, and other information distribution points.

• To conduct educational and promotional programs and seminars on the topic of planned giving for parishes, schools, other diocesan agencies, and outside professional organizations.

• To utilize the highest professional standards of ethic and conduct in the solicitation of all planned giving prospects.

• Assist and staff committees of the Catholic Foundation of Rhode Island Board of Advisors on related issues.

• To develop strong positive working relationships with the Pastors and Lay leaders in order to foster a spirit of cooperation, trust, and commitment.

• To perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree.

• Ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of demonstrated successful, relevant experience in planned giving and fundraising. Equivalent combinations of experience may be considered.

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills are required.

• Ability to work with a diverse group of people in an atmosphere of collaboration and service.
