Catholic Social Services of Rapid City is Hiring a Part-Time IT Support Specialist Near Rapid, SD

Position Summary: The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for managing information technology systems and providing technical support to end users, including but not limited to: Windows Server OS management, Microsoft 365 administration, device set-up and support, and end user support and troubleshooting.

Ideal Candidate: Experience with end user support, computer set-up and deployment, Microsoft Hyper-V server virtualization, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Azure, VoIP systems, and other related work experience or job-related certifications.

Requirements of the Position

  • Two-year degree in Computer Science or related field and/or two or more years of experience supporting technology systems in a business environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, technical, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Handle all client and Agency information confidentially.
  • Has a basic understating of Catholic Social Teaching and demonstrates a willingness to live a personal and professional life accordingly.

Major Tasks

  • Respond to help desk requests via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Document problems and solutions in the help desk ticketing system.
  • Purchase, install, and configure new computer hardware, related peripherals, and software as approved by IT Director.
  • Update, upgrade, maintain, diagnose, service, and repair computer hardware, software, and related peripheral devices (including but not limited to printers, projectors, scanners, copiers, fax machines, cellular phones, telephones, and battery back-up power supplies.)
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with computing equipment and software.
  • Provide ongoing technology training and instruction to end users.
  • Inventory, organization, and disposal of computer supplies. Maintains checkout system for shared devices.
  • Other duties as assigned by the IT Director.

Relationships

  • Reports to the IT Director.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other social services agencies, Catholic Diocese, parishes, schools, United Way, and other non-profit agencies.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and projects professional image to the public.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

  • Rapid City, SD 57701: Relocate before starting work (Required)
