Position: Community Youth Developer with Focus on Media, Prevention & Public Communication

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated, successful youth engagement specialist, who is community focused and has knowledge in at least 1 of the following focus areas: Video Production, social media, Grassroots Campaigns, and/or Health & Wellness Advocacy.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage youth and adults.

- 2-4 year college degree preferred, strong candidates with HS Diploma/GED may be considered.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Youth and/or Media Production.

- 3 References who will be contacted by phone.

- Must have reliable transportation, travel is involved. Milage for job related travel is reimbursed.

- The ability to work some weekends and/or evenings.

- MUST PASS Criminal Background Check as per Delaware Laws to be able to work with youth.

JOB DESCRIPTION: There are 3 interlocking components to this position.

1. Manage and facilitate a statewide, youth led PSA campaign and annual contest. (50% of FTE)

- Contact youth serving agencies to recruit for involvement in state backed media campaign.

- Facilitate trainings for youth at schools and youth organizations.

- Organize and manage an annual #MyReasonWhy PSA Video Contest.

- Organize an annual #MyReasonWhyDE Statewide PSA screening event.

- Manage website updates and social media.

- Collect data and create reports on Monthly Basis.

2. Manage and help to facilitate a statewide Youth Media Club that creates videos and social media for their peers and the State of Delaware. (35% FTE)

- Recruit youth, and youth serving organizations to join the Social Cause Influencers media group.

- Manage the SCI Club which will include 30 youth throughout the state.

- Lead a weekly training On-Line Call with youth. (Assistance will be provided)

- Manage youth who will be doing video projects.

- Plan an annual retreat.

- Be a liaison between youth in club and either the organization or Adult that nominated them.

3. Assist on a regular basis in a Video Production After School program. (15% FTE)

- Help as needed at a Video Production based afterschool program 1 to 2 days per week.

- Supervise youth doing projects.

- Assist the Teachers as needed.

- Help at monthly community-based evening dinner/show.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS (preferred):

- Adobe Creative Suite knowledge and/or Video Production Skills or Knowledge

- Basic Graphic Design skills. Will have access to Canva Pro

- Website development

- Copywriting for Fliers and Program descriptions.

- Excellent Public Specking Skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
