Our Location and Design Division offers an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and dynamic team as part of our Design Technology group. This role involves supporting 3D engineering software, delivering exemplary customer service and interact courteously and professionally with the public and other employees, while working closely with digital engineering technologies to drive innovative solutions.
This role combines technical expertise with user support and training responsibilities, ensuring that digital engineering software operates effectively, and users are well-supported. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Software Support and Troubleshooting: Providing ongoing support for digital engineering software; Troubleshooting and resolving issues encountered by end-users. Assisting with software installation, configuration, and optimization. Maintaining and updating software documentation and user guides.
Software Testing and Validation: Testing and validating software updates before deployment. Assessing the impact of patches or upgrades on existing workflows. Identifying and resolving potential integration issues.
System Performance and Issue Management: Monitoring system performance and addressing potential issues proactively. Implementing solutions to minimize downtime and disruption. Addressing technical issues related to software and system performance.
Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with software developers and users to ensure updates meet operational needs. Collaborating with management on innovative projects and work programs.
Helpdesk and Technical Support: Managing and documenting technical support requests within the helpdesk system. Creating, tracking, and updating support tickets. Maintaining records of user interactions and support activities. Identifying trends in support requests and report recurring issues to management.
ProjectWise and Bentley CONNECT Services: Providing user setup and project setup for ProjectWise.
Managing user permissions and support Bentley CONNECT Services. Connecting projects with ProjectWise repositories and set up applicable CONNECT services.
Training and Documentation: Recommending and facilitating training options for users. Be actively involved in implementing and executing ProjectWise user training programs. Utilizing Bentley Learning tools, Microsoft 365 Teams, and SharePoint for information sharing. Developing training materials such as videos, presentations, and job aids. Conducting onsite training as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
• Skill in problem solving techniques.
• Skill in active server web design.
• Experience applying highway engineering design policies, procedures and standards.
• Experience using CADD software programs and related administrative processes.
• Ability to investigate, analyze and test online documents.
• Skill in conducting research analysis.
• Experience reflecting knowledge of Web Development practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Considerations
• A combination of training, experience or education in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is desired.
• Familiarity with Carlson Survey, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Bentley OpenBridge Designer, and Bentley ProjectWise is a plus.
• Experience in developing and implementing training programs, including creating training videos, presentations, and other educational resources.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and customizing digital engineering software solutions.
• Skilled in managing and coordinating with a diverse range of teams to ensure successful program implementation.
• Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
• Experience in leading cross-functional projects and ensuring alignment between different teams and external partners.
• Skilled in managing and coordinating with a diverse range of teams to ensure successful program implementation.

Positions physically working within Central Office locations may be designated upon request and coordination among the respective District Engineer or Administrator and Chief. Assignments are updated annually. Not all designated employees are provided an emergency operations assignment.
