In this role, Direct Support Professionals will:

(Keep in mind, no two days are exactly the same)

· Maintain professional relationships with individuals, families, community members, and other staff.

· Be a part of a dynamic and supportive team in a growing organization full of opportunities.

· Follow Individual Support Plans and Behavior Plans for each participant in the day program.

· Encourage self-help skills, positicve social interactions, and activities to help participants gain independence.

· Maintain accurate and relevant documentation to report successes and challenges when working on individualized goals and outcomes, with each participant.

· Ensure the day program is clean and well organized for the safety of the participants and staff.

· Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external.

· Show up for work every day on time, with a positive attitude, and ready to tackle the day’s adventure.

· Provide assistance with adult daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, social interaction, financial transactions in the community, etc.

· Administers medications to clients once certified as a DMH Level 1 Medication Aide.

Qualifications:

• Are at least 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Are dependable, have reliable transportation.
• Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to follow oral and written directions and problem solve.
• Demonstrate patience, sensitivity, and positive attitude towards persons experiencing severe to profound developmental disabilities.
• Light computer skills to include data entry and word processing.
• Work requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

*Preferred

· Minimum of 2 years of experience providing care to individuals who have developmental disabilities.

We do complete background screenings with the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry.

Education:

• Highschool diploma or GED required for DSP positions.
• Higher paying positions available for those with Nursing certificates or degrees.

• Provide transportation for community integration
• Document services provided and support indiviudal goals and outcomes
• Provide a safe and supportive environement for all participants
• Administer medications
• Provide support with all activities of daily living (ADL) and Instrumental Activity of Daily Living (IADL)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
