Job Description:

CaVU Consulting, Inc. is seeking a passionate Computer Systems Security Specialist to help ensure security and intelligence compliance with policies and regulations, drawing on some of the nation's leading personnel and cybersecurity thought leaders for enhancing, accelerating, and assuring the United States Navy's ability to counter existing and emerging security threats. The Computer Systems Security Specialist has an opportunity to join a passionate team delivering top-quality service to clients.

Responsibilities: 

Performing system backups, execute system recovery processes, technical internal and external information system security audits. Additional responsibilities include:

• Review and analyze cyber-relevant information contained in industrial security, counterintelligence, Cybersecurity reports, DoD policy documents, and statutes
• Track the performance of classified information security programs
• Recommend courses of action by reviewing agency performance in terms of metrics, audits, strategies, and coordinating with the Government to address risks and issues

Required Skills:

Six (6) years of experience in:

• Installing and configuring and upgrading security software
• Securing networks through firewalls, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)/Intrusion Detection, password protection, Access Control Lists (ACLs), V-LAN, and industry standard network hardening techniques
• Implement secure framework and risk management methodologies using patch management, STIG implementation, information assurance vulnerability alerts/bulletins

Four (4) years of experience in:

• Acting on privacy breaches and malware threats
• Serving as a security expert and conduct training
• Draft policies and guidelines

One (1) years of experience in:

• System administration or security roles
• Networking and System Administration (e.g. TCP/IP, Firewalls)
• Firewall and endpoint security systems maintenance and functionality

One (1) year

• Supervising junior personnel

Proficient with:

• Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

• Analyzing performance and the ability to develop, execute, plan, and document security test procedures and document results
• Information Assurance Technical Level (IAT II or III), or Information Assurance Manager Level (IAM-I, II, or III) designation

Education & Other Qualifications:

• Professional Certifications: IAT II which requires a Security or equivalent and Continuous Education (CE).
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and seven (7) years of experience in the Information Technology field
• Allowable substitution: Ten (10) years of professional experience in the Information Technology field
• Requires a SECRET level US government security clearance

Comprehensive Compensation & Benefits Package:Salary at CaVU is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, education, training, certificates, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. To drive fair pay practices for employees, CaVU conducts regular comparisons across our employee groups and the industry. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, CaVU considers a number of factors when determining salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
