The Café Assistant is the lead individual in the retail location, working with the Retail Supervisor to lead and direct retail operations. The Café Assistant will cook, develop daily specials, ensure proper signage and serve patrons throughout the shift.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch meals
• Serve as a short order cook for breakfast service
• Develop daily specials
• Confirm daily menu with production for proper menus and pricing
• May direct retail staff in absence of Retail Supervisor
• Ensure proper portion control
• Ensure positive customer service at all times
• Maintain clean facilities throughout service
• Maintain departmental policies and procedures of clinical care in accordance with regulatory agencies
• Effective Communication and demonstration of team-based management.
• Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities, not noted above.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Education - High School Diploma or GED
• Experience - Minimum of 1 year experience working in a food service environment
• Licensure - Not required

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• 1 years' experience in a food service supervisory role

Physical Requirements:

Standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling and reaching. May be exposed to areas of extreme heat or cold. Primary work location may include loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, exposure to sharp objects. A licensed ability to drive may be necessary.

Location and Shift Requirements:

• Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY
• Full Time, Days and Evenings with Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Compensation Disclosure:

• $16.83 to $21.63 per hour
