This is not an entry level position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and claims. Must be a detail-oriented professional focused on deadlines and skilled in handling medical billing comfortably. A Confident Medical Biller knowledgeable in data confidentiality and privacy practices when reviewing patient information.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• · Checks claim status, collects payments, and files appeals by making phone calls, sending emails, and using the Payer systems.
• · Makes thorough, detailed notes on all accounts worked in RescueNet billing system.
• · Uses strong organizational skills to review aging reports, and able to prioritize accounts for collection.
• · Ensures all documentation requested by the Payer is provided in an accurate, timely manner.
• · Under supervision, determines appropriate adjustments, or payment plans that may be beneficial to recover funds.
• · Keeps up to date with Payer guidelines, and under the direction of the Director of Billing and Business Services, adheres to local, state and federal guidelines.
• · Uses creative and critical thinking skills when attempting to recover payment from Payers and Patients.
• · Follows a weekly review process and assesses monthly paid, denied and rejected claims for all Payers.
• · Provides compassion and understanding when interacting with patients by phone and in person.
• · Maintains a status of all assignments, and provides a weekly status report to management including Payer updates.
• · Performs other tasks as assigned.
