Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack API Developer to join our dynamic team in Reston, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API Integration, JavaScript, and Python, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on creating and integrating APIs that support our web applications. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- API Development & Integration: Design, develop, and integrate RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to enhance the functionality of our applications.
- Front-End Development: Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of APIs with web applications. Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Back-End Development: Build and maintain server-side logic using Python, including data storage solutions, authentication, and business logic.
- Database Management: Work with relational and NoSQL databases to design schemas, write queries, and optimize performance.
- Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver projects on time.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and security of web applications.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Diagnose and resolve issues in production and development environments, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum reliability.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the development team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 10 to 15 years of experience in full stack development with a strong focus on API integration and development.
- API Integration: Proficiency in designing and integrating RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- JavaScript Expertise: Extensive experience with JavaScript and modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Python Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Python for back-end development, including experience with frameworks such as Django or Flask.
- Database Skills: Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git and version control best practices.
- DevOps Awareness: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of front-end build tools and package managers (e.g., Webpack, npm).
- Understanding of security best practices in web development.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
