CBI Rehabilitation Services, Inc is Hiring a Program Coordinator Assistant Near East Lansing, MI

Essential Duties

  • Supervises clients directly or is aware of general whereabouts of clients (depending on upon assessed level of assistance needed).
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized systematic behavior change programs for clients directed at reducing maladaptive behaviors and increasing pro-social behavior.
  • Communicates with supervisor and designated staff regarding client and program issues.
  • Supervise and/or provides hands on assistance in clients’ activities of daily living, self-care tasks, as well as other client related care tasks as assigned.
  • Plans and supervises activities for clients including facilitating treatment within the program and in the community.
  • Administer medications, accurately charts medical issues, counts and documents all controlled and prescribed substances.
  • Intervenes in crisis situations, using approved methods promoting the safety of all clients and staff.
  • Perform tasks necessary for the operation of the program/home including housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, supplies shopping, maintenance and safety checks/drills.
  • Performs/coordinates all routine facility and equipment maintenance, upkeep and necessary repairs.
  • Enforce safety guidelines for clients. Follows general safety practices, documents and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Maintains fire and smoke alarm systems and all emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Assists direct care staff in maintaining inventory of client belongings.
  • Assist in orientation of new clients to facility by explaining rules, expectations and daily routines.
  • Attends in service training programs as required.
  • Assure adherence with all regulatory compliance for facility licensing.
  • Scheduling of direct care staff and review of employee timecards for accuracy.
  • Responsible for assurance of proper staffing ratios, including covering of shifts when necessary.
  • Participate in orientation and training of new staff members, review of training policies and follow-up to ensure new hire training completion.
  • Maintain employee records to ensure licensing compliance.
  • Maintain program records and completes program reports as required. Reviews and audits client records to ensure completeness.
  • Transportation and accompaniment of clients in community settings including; medical appointments, community integration, school, recreation etc.
  • Perform new client phone intakes with therapists, or Emergency Services, and provide an informed tour of facility for prospective new clients, families and therapists.

General Duties

Qualification and Education Requirements

  • Must possess as a minimum educational requirement a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving records as defined in the employee handbook.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals having behavioral, social and vocational needs.
  • Be of good moral character.
  • Ability to read small print and handwriting.
  • Ability to hear emergency sirens and alarms.
  • Ability to provide verbal warnings and emergency information to residents, doctors, families and other staff over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to cognitively reason and problem solve to ensure clients’ health and safety.
  • Possess fine motor skills to write reports and track daily data.
  • Ability to complete basic mathematic functions as required ensuring proper administration of client medications as well maintain accurate records of program and client monies.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and model appropriate social interactions at all times.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ability to articulate and actively promote the mission of the corporation to various audiences.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers and computer programs necessary to complete all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to perform clinical functions of the job such as: interactive treatment to individuals, observe emotional, vocational and social behaviors; teach/train individuals independent living skills; implement and document individual treatment programs.
  • Ability to complete required training programs in CPR and First Aid, Behavioral Assault Response Training as well as all other trainings as required.
  • Ability to perform non-physical and physical interventions with clients in accordance with proper techniques in order to protect the client, other clients, staff and self. This requires the physical ability to appropriately restrain a client with or without assistance from co-workers.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Science or closely related field; or equivalent academic and applied experience.
  • Experience in a program utilizing systematic behavior management procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency using electronic communication systems.
  • Knowledge of Time & Attendance Tracking procedures and programs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.75 - $15.25 per hour
