**About The Role**
The purpose of the Estimator position is to estimate project costs based on information provided or collected and create estimate documentation for use by the sales team including written proposals, written statements of work, pricing summaries, and pricing analysis. The ideal candidate will have a background in facilities building management or SMART Systems, HVAC systems, video monitoring systems, and access control systems.
**What Youll Do**
Utilize skills, experience, and independent judgment to assist in the selection of devices, components, and the determination of labor hours for the development of estimates.
Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and installation quotes.
Take-off and estimate projects while maintaining company profit margins by evaluating design alternatives for cost, profitability, and system performance.
Participate in project kickoff meetings, and work in concert with other departments to ensure the success and profitability of the project.
Prepare project bid documents and on-site surveys for retrofit-type projects.
Prepare accurate and detailed construction cost estimates in a Bill of Quantities or similar format, from high-level conceptual design through final construction document completion
Research regional pricing of material and labor using published documents and market data.
Interface with clients or cost/project management team to define cost requirements and goals and issue recommendations as needed.
Set up estimate work breakdown structure to align with budget and cost reporting system.
Prepare detailed bid analysis and review sessions with project teams and senior management to validate a quantity record booklet (or equivalent) submitted by contractors/subcontractors.
Support the Cost Manager when reviewing and approving large change orders and review invoices submitted for review and approval during the project.
**What Youll Need**
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering Technology or a combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with estimating mechanical systems application and design.
Knowledge of commercial Heating & Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and control systems.
Knowledge of Network architecture, Access Control systems, and Video Monitoring Systems is preferred.
Knowledge of computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Drive, and other applications.
Must be able to read and understand HVAC/R mechanical drawings, plumbing drawings, and electrical drawings including wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidates education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Estimator position is $70,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Estimator position is $80,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidates skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBREs applicable benefit program.
