Job Listing: IT Technician
Position: IT Technician Level 1
Location: CDM Electronics Inc, Turnersville NJ
Reports To: Director of Information Technology
Employment Type: Full-Time
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Level 1 IT Technician to join our dynamic IT team. This full-time position is responsible for the installation, updating, repair, and support of corporate desktops, laptops, tablets, thin clients, software applications, and other peripheral technologies. The role also involves maintaining technical documentation for policies, procedures, asset management, training, and issue tracking and resolution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
- Maintain corporate end-user systems for both local and remote personnel, resolving reported issues promptly.
- Install new desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Manage user accounts in an Active Directory environment using Microsoft Exchange mail services in Office 365
- Maintain Ticketing Database/Help Desk calls and document known issue resolutions.
- Maintain Hardware and Software Asset Management System.
- Administer credentials and assist with ERP issues.
- Maintain Security, Camera, and Door Access Systems
- Maintain and update FAQ Knowledge base for internal use
- Create and maintain training documentation and IT bulletins
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct reports.
TRAVEL:
Less than 5% (travel to other locations for support, training, conferences, if necessary).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree or Technical School Degree or a minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
- A Certification preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation for occasional offsite responsibilities and travel to support other locations as needed.
- Ability to work on-call status or on special projects as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Required:
- Proficiency in Windows 10 and newer desktop operating systems.
- Experience with Windows Server 2008 R2 and newer operating systems.
- Familiarity with mobile device operating systems (Android/iOS).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including network topologies and network protocols.
- Experience in servicing and deploying computer equipment.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office, Office 365 and Microsoft SQL Server.
Preferred:
- Experience with Apple Mac OSX.
- Ability to prioritize and manage Help Desk calls effectively.
- Skill in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Experience with Ubiquiti, Cisco, and Sonicwall Wi-Fi Access Point and network infrastructure management.
- Experience in Software Quality Assurance test planning and testing
