Job Description
CEC Controls is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems, including reading schematics and wiring panels. Mechanical knowledge is a plus, and the role requires the ability to follow directions and work independently in the field. This position involves travel up to 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Electrical and Wiring Tasks
- Read and interpret electrical schematics to guide installation and troubleshooting tasks.
- Wire control panels according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
- Technical Skills
- Use a voltmeter to measure electrical values, diagnose issues, and verify proper operation of circuits.
- Follow detailed instructions to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
- Apply mechanical knowledge to assist in the installation and maintenance of control systems and equipment
- Field Work and Travel:
- Travel to various job sites, performing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems.
- Communicate effectively with the project team and clients to ensure successful project completion
- Adapt to varying work environments, ensuring that all tasks are completed to high standards
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications are a plus
- Practical experience in reading schematics and wiring panels
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to use a voltmeter
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with tools and equipment
- Physical and Legal Requirements
- Ability to travel greater than 50%.
- Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship.
- Able to climb a 2-story ladder
- Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
- Able to lift 30 lbs. while carrying a laptop
